Otley Wedding Photography

Hannah and Andy had the most beautiful DIY Leeds wedding. They chose Otley Methodist Church for their wedding ceremony before heading to Emmanuel Church Centre in Horsforth for their reception. The reception venue was decorated with a pretty woodland theme. When I found out about their ideas to have wood and nature in their wedding, we began discussing potential locations for their wedding portraits in Leeds. We visited Otley Chevin at their pre-wedding shoot to try it out, and we all loved it. You can have a peek at their pre-wedding shoot here.

On the day of the wedding, Hannah got ready at a holiday cottage in Horsforth. She had her parents, grandparents and brother staying with her as well as three of her bridesmaids. There was such a lovely atmosphere of happiness and anticipation. It was clear that Hannah's family all love Andy and were so very excited to see her get married. Hannah got ready in the conservatory which meant there was beautiful light for her make-up. Once Hannah had her dress on, she headed downstairs to show all her family and bridesmaids, and it was such a lovely moment to photograph.

The wedding ceremony was lovely and very personal to the two of them. They had the pastor from their Church to do the message, which meant there was lots of little anecdotes about them throughout. They had a fantastic band leading the music and the church was full of their family and friends. The minister was happy for me to move around during the service, which meant I was able to get lots of different angles during it.

After the evening meal of delicious chicken paella, there was dancing, lots of dancing! Despite being a wedding photographer for several years, this was actually my first time photographing a ceilidh and great fun but a little dangerous at times! I liked standing in the middle to try and capture the guest's reactions, but that also meant that in some dances, I had to quickly run out of the way or duck. It was fantastic and I loved every minute of it.

Andy and Hannah, thanks again for trusting me to be your wedding photographer. It was an absolute honour to photograph your day.
