WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT THE PARSONAGE HOTEL YORK
A BEAUTIFUL AND
RELAXED YORK WEDDING
Jo and Ash had such a lovely relaxed wedding with some of the most friendly guests I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Jo and Ash got married in spring at the gorgeous Parsonage Hotel, which is an old country house in Escrick, York. They had their ceremony at the local church, which was just a short walk away across the carpark. They chose The Parsonage Hotel because of how close the church was and how beautiful it all is. It was a relaxed wedding, which I really enjoyed because the people are so chilled. The Parsonage Hotel has the most beautiful gardens at the back, which make the perfect backdrop for a wedding day at any time of year.
BRIDE AND GROOM PREP
Jo got ready with her bridesmaids and family, and the atmosphere was so calm. She looked so serene throughout! Jo then walked the short distance to the ceremony. following the footsteps, Ash had made a few minutes before. My second shooter Kirsten photographed the groom prep and got some great photographs of Ash and his best man using Youtube videos to learn how to do their ties.
The wedding itself was a church service in a stunning chapel next to the hotel. During the ceremony, they had a few beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so beautiful.
The reception was at the same venue and they walked around the gardens for photographs in the afternoon. They decorated the venue with wildflowers and bunting because they wanted to keep it simple and rustic. The combination worked really well and the beautiful flower sashes finished off the room perfectly. For dinner, they had a slap up meal and they very kindly bought Kirsten and
THE RECEPTION myself lunch, which was delicious! The first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle with a few twirls at the end). Lots of the guests were up dancing straight after the first dance.
Jo and Ash met on a random night out in york in the 80’s bar, reflex, on the revolving dance floor. Ashley’s friend started trying to dance with Jo and Ash went over to apologise and they got chatting and as they say, the rest is history! They got in touch with me last year and their enquiry said how much they love my work and when we met Jo and I bonded over a mutual love of cake.
Jo and Ash’s wedding was so laid back and so much fun. Here’s their awesome wedding!
