It is understandible that you may have lots of questions about how my photoshoots run and what to expect! I hope the below blog post will help explain all.
Before the day
From your first enquiry, my aim is to respond to you quickly and help advise on the best location and time of day for your shoot. Once we have agreed a time, date and location, I will send you think to a booking form. You need to complete this and pay the £75 session fee, along with any applicable travel costs, within three days in order to confirm your shoot. Please read my blog post on what to wear and how to prepare your children before the shoot here.
Before the shoot I will be keeping a close eye on the weather. Some rain is okay, but if it is looking like the rain will be too constant or heavy to continue, I will be in touch with some alternative dates. You will receive an email from me a couple of days before the shoot with some further information about meeting points etc.
On the day
I will arrive early at your shoot to scout the best locations according to the light on the day. I will have already confirmed a meeting place. We will then walk to the first location together. I usually keep my camera in my bag until this point, in order to give any little ones a chance to get to know me, before they see me behind an enormous lens and camera.
At each location we will play games and have fun! I may do some simple posing but then leave you to enjoy playing
together. I will also be looking at taking photographs of different combinations of people, so may ask some to step out of the way, or make your child(ren) 'special helpers' for a few shots. We will then move on to the next location. I sometimes take photographs of you walking together, but this depends on the age of your children and the light. If you have older children, I may ask them to do some more posed style shots, but I also want you all to have lots of fun together!
The shoot is usually around an hour. It can be slightly more or slightly less depending on how the shoot flows. If your children are very upset or frustrated on the day, don't panic! If the shoot really isn't going to work that day, we can arrange a top-up shoot another day.
After the shoot
My turnaround time for images is two weeks. You can expect an email with a link to the images two weeks to the day after the shoot. I don't put any images from portrait shoots on facebook or any other social media until after you have purchased, or not at all if you are not comfortable with them being online. The gallery will contain 20-30 edited images in colour and black and white (so 40-60 in total).
The gallery link comes with instructions on how to order. The gallery will stay open for three days only. Please order within this time. If you order downloads, a link will be emailed to you straight away from the store. Please follow this link to download your images. The link is only valid for 7 days, so please download within this time. If you order prints, there is a three week turnaround for these. You can either collect these from my home in Bradford, or pay £5 for delivery via Hermes.
