These are my most commonly asked questions about how I work and what to expect on your wedding day. If there’s anything that isn’t covered though please get in touch

I really like your work! How do I book?

That's great news! Before booking lets have a face to face meeting or a chat over Skype. This gives us chance to get to know each other and I can show you some more of my work and talk through the package and contract with you. It’s so important to me that our personalities connect, we’re a good match and that my approach to wedding photography is what you’re looking for.

After we’ve met up or spoken then you have seven days to discuss things and ask any questions. Once you have decided you want to go ahead with the booking let me know and I’ll send a booking form, contract and invoice over via email (everything is done online). You need to complete the forms and send the deposit within two weeks of the meeting. After the two weeks I reserve the right to offer the date to someone else.

How do we pay?

The payment system I offer works like this:

1: Booking fee due at time of booking (£250). Please note this is a booking fee and is therefore non-refundable.

2: 6 months before the wedding 50% of price (minus booking fee)

3: 8 weeks prior to wedding – remaining 50%. If you book your wedding with less than 6 months notice, you will need to pay 50% at the time of booking.

What digital file format do my photographs come in?

You receive high quality files of all your images in both colour and black and white.

How long after the wedding do I get my images?

Four weeks after your wedding you will receive an email with a link to your online gallery. The gallery will expire 6 months after the date of your wedding. You can share this link with family and friends, download the images, and order prints direct. If you are having an album, you also use this site to highlight the images you would like in it. You also get all the images on a USB – this will be sent to you at the same time as the site link if you are not having an album, or if you are it will be sent with the album. Your album will be designed within four weeks of you choosing the images and the final album will be delivered within 8 weeks after ordering.

How many photos will I receive?

I will provide 400+ professionally edited photographs for a full day of shooting.

Do you do a pre-wedding shoot?

I don't include a pre-wedding shoot as standard but they can be puchased on top of the wedding package. As a documentary/reportage photographer I follow the moments of your day and do very little posing or directing with my couples, so  pre-wedding shoot is just not essential.

Do you have a second photographer/assistant?

Yes, I include a second photographer in every package. They will take photographs during morning preparations so you can both see what the other gets up to! Having a second photographer also gives you an alternative angle during the ceremony. Throughout the day they will then assist me as well as taking additional photographs.

How would you describe your style of photography?

I take a photo-documentary approach to my wedding photography, capturing things as they happen. I’ll step in to take some more posed photographs of you both with your families and give some gentle direction at this point. For the rest of the day I will be busy behind the scenes getting precious photographs of all the tiny details you have spent months planning, and photographs of you and your guests having a blast on your special day.

In my experience, brides and grooms don't actually spend much time together on the day – there are simply too many guests and too little time! With that in mind I always ask that you allow a little time (15-20 minutes) for us to go somewhere alone without the rest of your guests to capture some relaxed portraits of the two of you on your wedding day.

Can we provide you with a 'group shot-list'?

Yes please do! But please keep it to a maximum of 10 groups.

How soon do I need to book you for my wedding?

As soon as possible! I can only hold your date for seven days after our meeting so it's best to get in touch sooner rather than later.

Do you have insurance?

Absolutely! I am fully insured and so is all my equipment.

How long after the wedding do you keep my images for?

I keep your delivered RAW and JPEG files either until you have ordered your album or for a period of six months if you are not having an album. After this the RAW files will be destroyed but the JPEG files remain on file for two years.
